Recruitment Package
Recruitment for the next Nourish two-year cohort has begun with a team and capacity-building phase that will run for six months, up to the spring 2021 announcement of the selected cohort.
We have prepared a Recruitment Package to support you through this phase, and to help you develop your Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Anchor Collaborative Cohort. Later in the recruitment process, full applications will build upon the EOI, including the request for details on diverse partners and team members who have come on board during the recruitment period.
At the EOI stage you do not need to have identified all of the potential partners you plan to work with - just your principal health and community partners. The EOI is a necessary step for teams interested in developing a full application later. The selection committee will provide feedback to all teams, to guide them in the development of their full application.
UPDATE: The 3rd EOI intake deadline has been extended to March 26th, and 5 planning grants have been added!
The Recruitment Package will:
Provide you with key information about the cohort recruitment and how to develop and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) including:
An introduction to Nourish and the Anchor Collaborative Cohort
A timeline of what’s to come, including key milestones and dates
How to submit an EOI, including applying for a $5,000 planning grant (if desired)
Eligible applicants and selection criteria
Technological requirements for participating virtually
Offer a suite of tools and resources to build your team and its capacity for systems change, as well as prepare you for participation in the Nourish Anchor Collaborative Cohort including:
Guidance on building your multidisciplinary, place-based team
Identifying and engaging with stakeholders working on food, climate, equity, and/or community health and well-being
Framing the problem(s) you want to collectively address
Assessing readiness for the cohort
Worksheets and Templates included:
The Recruitment Package contains several worksheets that you can download and complete with your emerging team. We encourage you to review these as you prepare your Expression of Interest and full application, and to attach all completed worksheets to your submission.

Identifying Strengths and Assets in Your Community
Each Anchor Collaborative will work in their community to co-create innovations to address food insecurity, reduce health inequity, and activate climate leadership by leveraging existing assets. Build some momentum in your collaboration by taking stock of the assets you have, and harnessing them to work together. Have your team brainstorm and explore the resources you might draw upon to support your collaboration by completing this worksheet together.
Engaging Key Stakeholders
This worksheet is designed to help you identify a broad range of stakeholders impacted by your wicked problem area. You do not need to have completed it in order to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
The recruitment period is designed to help you plan which stakeholders to reach out to as you begin to build your team.
Should you decide to submit a full application to the program, we will ask you to share a summary of which stakeholders you’ve spoken to, and the status of their invitations, via Tab 1 in this spreadsheet.
Assessing Readiness for the Cohort
Co-applicant organizations should each complete this self-assessment together with key contributors from their organization. The purpose of this exercise is to explore strengths and likely challenge areas, flag potential blindspots, begin to build readiness, and identify next steps for a successful collaboration. There is no minimum score.
Should you decide to submit a full application to the program, we will ask you to share your responses to this readiness scan via Tab 2 in this spreadsheet.
Cohort Preview
This chart provides an overview of estimated time commitment by each stakeholder group for Nourish cohort programming. This is in addition to the time commitments of each collaborative team for their place-based work.
Invitation Templates for Building Your Team
